Which parrot to choose?

By the way, speaking of funny incidents: a case happened in the USA. Thieves broke into a house where a talking parrot lived. The bird memorized the criminals' names and repeated them in front of the police. The culprits were found. People get pets primarily for enjoyment, and such heroic deeds are more of a bonus :) Here are three parrot species that we think are perfect for home life.

Lovebird

There are several species: rosy-cheeked, masked, Fischer’s, black-cheeked, black-headed, and ring-necked.

Personality: cheerful and lively, loves being in pairs. Doesn’t like being touched and is often wary of its owner. Birds in pairs are very noisy. This bird is not suitable for children.

Lovebird

African Grey (Jaco)

A large bird with a strong beak capable of cracking open a coconut. Loves freedom and only returns to its cage to eat, drink, sleep, or go to the bathroom. Not for beginners.

Personality: very intelligent, enjoys communication, and is easy to approach. They are excellent at mimicking sounds like doorbells, mobile phones, etc.

African Grey (Jaco)

Cockatiel

The bird’s main color is gray. Males have more rosy cheeks and are larger than females, who are paler and have shorter crests.

Personality: active and clever. They easily remember words and phrases. They become attached to their owners and love to interact. However, they really don’t like being teased—they’ll try to bite you or completely ignore you :)

Cockatiel

Bright colors, exotic beauty, and fun are what parrots will definitely bring into your life!
